Delivery storage vs archive storage
There are two piles. The first is your archive — every RAW, every project file, every export you might one day need. That belongs on cold storage: an external drive, Backblaze, a NAS. Nothing about that lives on Curanta.
The second pile is your delivery storage. That's the finished, exported, watermark-free files your clients are actively downloading. That pile is smaller. That pile lives on Curanta.
A rule of thumb
- Wedding filmmaker: ~40 GB per wedding, delivery kept live for six months.
- Short-form studio: ~15 GB per client engagement, delivery kept live for the contract.
- Brand agency: ~25 GB per campaign, delivery kept live for one quarter.
Once a delivery is retired — client has downloaded everything, three months have passed — archive it and remove it from live storage. Your live storage bill stays flat while your business grows.
